Influencer Miguel Goede: Vision 2030

Interview March 2023

Could you tell us what has happened since we interviewed you in April 2021 concerning the Vision2030 vision document? You are launching an update, can you expand on that?
Our last interview was almost two years ago and many things have happened. The vision document was adjusted multiple times based on contacts with the persons involved as we were coming out of the Covid-pandemic.

The Award 5.0 was offered for the 3rd time in December 2022. The first Award in 2021 was awarded to all those volunteers involved in the Covid pandemic, the so-called “essential workers”. The second Award 5.0 was offered to Benjamin Visser for his involvement in “Neighborhood”-agriculture projects. The last Award was granted to ‘Kaya Kaya’ for their social innovative projects in Otrobanda.

All those selected were selected based on our criteria. The Award 5.0 is a continuation of the Change 2020 award (started in 1997) that we used to offer in the past. As we speak on this day, the 3rd of March, a new glossy version of the Vision 2030 document is released, after talking to different people and organizations like Tico Vos, ‘Unidat di Bario‘, and ‘Amigu di Tera‘ to mention some of them. They all support the Vision document. Based on these conversations, we decided to present the Vision document in a new, more attractive format to increase the probability that people will take notice of this vision document and hopefully, their actions align in manifesting this Vision. The document is now available online via www.Curacao2030.net

What are the other plans for the coming years of Vision2030?
This newly updated Vision document is rooted in a more organic approach, where for the nine areas identified, there are one to 3 coordinators that are the authors of the area. We will stimulate the different coordination as much as we can. For example, you, Ivan, are the coordinator for the sectors “Mindset” and “Neighborhood”. You will select those Influencers you have interviewed according to the area they are involved in. The coordinators will create a virtual network via an App or mailing list that is activated, stimulated, and monitored on what is happening. They might have meetings to see how everything is evolving in that sector, basically “connecting the dots”.

What are some of the obstacles and opportunities that you are dealing with?

The biggest obstacle is ourselves. I mean our belief in ourselves and to take action. People don’t understand deeply enough how little they should undertake to have a significant impact.
For example:
Just participating in our zoom meeting will have a tremendous effect if all of us would just participate;
Just answering our email when we approach you to share with us how your project is moving;
Offering help to another person in our network. The point is if a lot of people do something small is much more impactful compared to letting a small group of people do tons of work. If we master this mindset, then the manifestation of the Vision will be within the foreseeable future.

How can we as Share2Uplift help you?
Share2uplift is a natural and easy partner as Share2Uplift is a network, as it has the files where 250 Influencers (we reach this mark by the end of 2023), are categorized in the 9 areas we cover in the Vision document. The Vision is a vision, but this Vision needs to be owned by and implemented by people. And very important group of the people implementing this Vision are part of the group of Influencers Share2Uplift has interviewed up to now. It is of vital importance that the Influencers have taken notice of the content of Vision 2030 and that they know their role in manifesting this Vision.

That is putting their project, their organization, and their initiative within Vision 2030 and having done that, the only thing they need to do further is to keep doing what they are doing. Just let us know once and a while what we can do for them and let us know what they can do for others. For example, what Vision2030 is doing with the platform Share2Uplift

Share2Uplift as a movement is autonomous and doing its thing; the same is true for Vision 2030. But this autonomy is relative as Share2Uplift is Vision2030 and Vision2030 is Share2Uplift And I see it also valid for all dots we connect. You become one of the wholes, organically or energetically. The progress we have made over the past years makes us very hopeful for the near future. The updated Vision 2030 document ends with a slogan: “Don’t focus your energy on fighting the existing situation, but focus your energy on creating the desired future”.

One of the 250 Influencers

We like to express our appreciation and full support for the next steps that Miguel Goede is undertaking. “Without vision, people perish”. We will try as much as possible within our means to collaborate with this initiative to create real impacts in our society. We are inviting our group of Influencers grouped according to the sectors Vision2030 uses and inviting them to the upcoming meeting on the 10th of March. But we will also start requesting periodically that all these influencers report on the progress they are making in their respective areas, so help us all gain a better overall view of how we are manifesting the Vision or adjusting the Vision with the input of all involved.
Look at the list of the Influencers we have interviewed or reported on, up to now.

The goal of the core group of Share2Uplift for 2023

The goal of the Share2Uplift movement is to: “Identify 250 leaders from all walks of life to connect, align and create impactful changes in all walks of life, which includes intergenerational collaboration by the end of 2023.” We will use interviewing Influencers, meet-and-greet events, “train-the-trainers”-programs on “Emotional Mastery” and “Intentionality “as national intervention strategies, to reach this goal on top of our goal to scale up the possibilities to connect, align and create impact via a virtual platform. We believe that by collaborating with Miguel Goede on the virtual Vision 2030 platform, we will accelerate the possibilities to connect the diaspora and others elsewhere in the world and on the island willing to constructively create impactful changes in Curaçao, to join.

As Share2Uplift, we are fully trying to align with this thinking of Center for Curriculum Redesign to promote this agenda in our educational systems and workplace. So, in that sense, we fully support any initiative to make our educational system 21st-century proof.

Share2Uplift aligners are those that:
– Create an inspiring vision of the future;
– Motivate and inspire people to engage with that vision;
– Manage the delivery of the vision;
– Coach and build a team, so that it is more effective at achieving the vision. These criteria are now being polished.

We also consider these 5 values the most important ones for Share2Uplift aligners. They are:

• Peace from within;
• Compassion;
• Respectfulness;
• Integrity;
• Responsibility.

As we will progress towards this goal, we will update you on the progress.
